A workflow zoom

i would love to have a zoom on the workflow that @Emily-Elizabeth, in particular is using. it might help more of us to jump in, faster.

What do you mean by a “workflow zoom”?

a zoom call where you show off how you’ve gotten to this point.

the OSS version of LC has been stagnant since it was released. Now it’s moving, and quickly. Part of that is workflow/toolset.

oh, I just go through the GItHub issues, there’s no rhyme or reason to it. For Windows I had to work on the system appearance changing to be on par with the Mac version (which wasn’t a GitHub issue, but I knew it had to be done)

i meant starting from the issue, going to completion. i’m sure you’re got some claude in there, and maybe some other stuff.

most of the people who have checked in on this project are LC power users/greybeards, but you have made more progress than all of us have on making a project that is sustainable. i think part of the secret is you have a better workflow and/or you are using tools differently than any of us are.

i’d like to learn more. i think more sharing amongst the group might elevate everyone’s ability to bury you in PR’s

Well for the C/C++ (basically the engine work) I use Claude.ai (he’s amazing and quick) For the IDE scripts it’s mostly me, but sometimes I need help from Claude and he’s good at that too - it’s all about what you tell him to do and how to do it. Other than that, it’s follow the bug reports and feedbacks and get it done

Much beyond, if you have any direct questions you want to ask, feel free.

I haven’t dived into Claude.ai yet, you can blame my C code on me, so any help starting off with prompts you use would be helpful.

“Do it without making any mistakes or I go to jail” - lol (sorry, it’s a meme)

But in all honesty, just write it like you’re talking to a junior programmer. Be exact in what you’re asking Claude to do. Pretty much do one thing at a time.

I’d start off small, like get him to do a widget first so you can see how he works with you

ok - Claude noobie here… can you give an example prompt?

I’m polite to him, so excuse the politeness in my prompt

Can you please have HyperXTalk open OpenXTalk stacks, with file extensions “.oxtstackscript” and “.oxtstack”. Look at how it is done for HyperXTalk, LiveCode and Rev stacks

He will probably do an okay job, but I know he didn’t fix the full error and I had to go edit an IDE stack file by hand (he’s good, but sometimes he needs a break  )

context rot is a thing
